APPLYING FOR VETERAN EDUCATIONAL BENEFITS
AT HOBART INSTITUTE OF WELDING TECHNOLOGY
To use your VA educational benefits you must be
enrolled in a program approved by the State Approving Agency for
Veterans Training.
The following programs at Hobart Institute of
Welding Technology are approved for VA Benefits:

Preparation for the American Welding
Society Certified Welding Inspector/Educator (AWS - CWI/CWE)

Steps to take
to use your Veterans Educational Benefits
- If you have never applied for educational
benefits you need the following:
a. DD-214 Discharge papers (Certified Copy)
b.
VA22-1990 Application for Educational Benefits – can
be obtained from
VA office or HIWT Financial Aid office.
c.
DD-2384 Notice of Basic Eligibility (NOBE) for
members of Selective
Reserve (See your Commanding Officer to apply for this
document).
- If you have previously applied for
educational benefits:
VA22-1995 Request for a
change of location or Place of Training. (Only if
you have previously used
your Veterans Educational benefits).
- All forms should be given to the financial
aid office at Hobart Institute of Welding
Technology and a copy
will be forwarded to the VA.
