ADMISSIONS REPRESENTATIVE APPOINTED AT HOBART
INSTITUTE
Terry
Brown of Troy has accepted the position of
Admissions Representative at the Hobart Institute of
Welding Technology.
Formerly a manager with ITW Hobart Brothers
Company, Terry spent the past nine years working
with the Stick Electrode Business Unit.
“Terry
recently earned an Associates Degree in Business
Management from Edison Community College and begins
his position at the Hobart Institute with the
enthusiasm and energy required for this active
position,” says Ron Scott, Vice President and
General Manager.
“We are pleased to have Terry as part of
our team.”
Terry
will join Erin Lucas in offering prospective
students tours and guidance in their career choices.
He will also be available to speak about
welding opportunities to students in vocational and
high school classes throughout Ohio and neighboring
states. In
addition, current students may turn to Terry and
Erin for job placement and housing assistance.
“With
the shortage of qualified welders, it is important
to the industry that we make young people aware of
the opportunities available to them,” says Terry.
“I am looking forward to interacting with
high school welding instructors and guidance
counselors to assist them in meeting the needs of
their students.
I also encourage students seeking career
guidance to call me for tours and information.”
In
addition to having his degree from Edison Community
College, Terry also earned an honorable discharge
from the U.S. Air Force following four years of
active military service as a ground power equipment
mechanic. He
plans to further his education and obtain a
bachelors degree from Bluffton College.
Terry resides in Troy with his wife,
Jennifer, and two preschool daughters.
He enjoys golf and bowling in his spare time.
