RON SCOTT APPOINTED TO THE
BOARD OF DIRECTORS
The Hobart Institute of Welding
Technology announces the addition of Ron Scott to
the Board of Directors. This appointment
serves to provide the seven-member board with a
balance shared by operating and non-operating
members.
Ron has been with the Institute
since 1975 and currently serves as Vice President
and General Manager. His previous experience
as an instructor and a manager continues to support
a dedicated staff. He knows his customers and
relates well with students. Ron brings a
strong blend of knowledge and expertise to the
position.
Other members of the board include
President Andre A. Odermatt, William H. Hobart,
Peter C. Hobart, Scott Santi, Scott Kozumi, and Ray
Woods. This board governs the nonprofit
Hobart Institute of Welding Technology that was
founded in 1930.
While location and size have changed
since that time, the quality of training continues
to uphold the Institute’s legacy -- that producing
a good weld requires not only a welding machine and
electrodes, but most importantly the skills to
manipulate the arc.
“While welding technology has
advanced in leaps and bounds,” Ron Scott explains,
“still we have a shortage of qualified welders.
Our goal is to be the best Institute for hands-on
welding training in the world. This provides
direction needed to propel the Institute’s forward
momentum.”
Hobart
Institute of Welding Technology, dedicated to
welding training and education excellence,
is a nonprofit educational facility located at
400 Trade Square East, Troy, OH 45373.
