HOBART INSTITUTE RECEIVES IMAGE OF WELDING
AWARD FROM AMERICAN WELDING SOCIETY
September 19, 2006 – Troy, OH - The American Welding
Society and the Welding Equipment Manufacturers
Committee are pleased to announce that the Hobart
Institute of Welding Technology has been selected to
receive the 2006 Image of Welding award for
the large business category, due to the impact the
Institute has on the country’s welder workforce and
the number of students who have graduated.
The
Hobart Institute will be recognized for its
exemplary dedication to promoting the image of
welding at the Image of Welding Awards
Ceremony on Thursday, November 2 at the 2006 FABTECH
International /AWS Welding Show held at the Georgia
World Conference Center in Atlanta. Ron Scott, Vice
President and General Manager of the Institute, will
accept the award.

students, we would like to express our sincere
thanks, gratitude and appreciation to the Welding
Equipment Manufacturers Committee for this
prestigious award,” says Andre Odermatt, President
of Hobart Institute. “We also appreciate the

and nominating our organization for this prestigious
award.”
