HOBART INSTITUTE
IN THE NEWS!
Hobart
Institute student Joe Vagedes of Dayton was featured on the
front cover of the recently released Miami Valley
Industry Guide 2007-2008. Joe was working on welding
aluminum at the Hobart Institute when the picture was
taken. The photo by Anthony Weber, staff photographer of
the Troy Daily News,
provided a great lead-in to the inside article about the
Institute.
The
American Welder section of the October issue of the
Welding Journal
featured a photo of Maria Hanna, a recent graduate of Hobart
Institute, along with an article, “Welding Offers Women New
Career Opportunities,” by Adrienne Zalkind and Marty Baker.
“Not Just
Horse Play: Sculpture to be Displayed at Troy High School,”
was an article that appeared in the
Troy Daily News on
October 2. With assistance from Hobart Institute, Paula
Benfer’s art class at that secondary school is incorporating
welding into a major project. Watch the pages of
The
World of Welding for a feature articles after this
sculpture is completed.
The Fall
2007 issue of Supply Link from the
W.W. Grainger Company
highlighted welding in an article, “Casting Skilled Workers
in a New Light: Worker Shortage Could Lead to a Crisis.”
Andre Odermatt, President of Hobart Institute, was
interviewed for this article, explaining that welding is
just the beginning of a great career.
The front
page of
Business First! for a Greater Dayton Region featured
Hobart Institute of Welding Technology, as a resource
partner.
And the
Troy Area Chamber News
recognized how, “Troy Area Benefits from High Enrollment at
Hobart Institute of Welding Technology.”
Each time
welding reaches the front news pages in a positive light, it
heightens the public awareness and enhances the Image of
Welding that is so important to industry today and into
the future. Visit
www.welding.org frequently and view the Hot Stuff
containing information about the Hobart Institute. Also,
