The American Welding Society and the Welding Equipment Manufacturers Committee are pleased to announce that the Hobart Institute of Welding Technology has been selected to receive the 2006 Image of Welding award for the large business category, due to the impact the Institute has on the country’s welder workforce and the number of students who have graduated. 

The Hobart Institute was recognized for its exemplary dedication to promoting the image of welding at the Image of Welding Awards Ceremony on Thursday, November 2 at the 2006 FABTECH International /AWS Welding Show held at the Georgia World Conference Center in Atlanta.  Ron Scott, Vice President and General Manager of the Institute, accepted the award.
