Two local efforts are strengthened by the support from Hobart Institute of Welding Technology.  Contributions to the United Way Campaign totaled nearly $3000 and reached the goal of HIWT.  This annual drive helps sustain many nonprofit community organizations throughout the year.  

“Newspaper in Education” (NIE) is a project of the Dayton Daily News to provide school teachers in the area with another teaching tool to enhance student skills in current events, reading, spelling, and comprehension.  Hobart Institute proudly sponsors newspapers for classes at the Troy High School and Thomas Hook Elementary School in Troy, offering teachers up-to-the-minute text in many content areas.
