HIWT RECOGNIZES EXCELLENCE
In our fall 2004 issue, the Hobart
Institute announced a new program to recognize excellence in
performance of people who go above and beyond the requirements
or levels of desirability to exceed normal expectations. Those
people will continue to be recognized on the pages of The
World of Welding.
The bold print
designates new additions to the list.
PERFECT ATTENDANCE
Students may
earn this status by attending Hobart Institute in the five-month
Structural Welding Program or nine-month
Combination Structural and Pipe Welding Program without
missing even one day of class. The list is growing and
students are encouraged to strive for this goal.

ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT
Hobart Institute provides two levels of academic achievement.
This recognition is based on the grade point average of students
in the five or nine-month programs at HIWT. Candidates for this
award must reach a GPA or 3.6 to 3.79 to receive high honors and
3.8 to 4.0 to receive the highest honors.
HIWT ALUMNI
This category recognizes individuals who completed programs at
HIWT and are now successful in the welding industry and have
promoted welding and the Hobart Institute through their career
path.

VOCATIONAL WELDING
INSTRUCTORS
To receive recognition as an instructor, you must send a minimum
of four (4 ) students over a time period of four years to Hobart
Institute for further education. That is just one student per
year or may be cumulative (2 students each year for 2 years; 4
students in one year, etc.). Remind your students that they
must list your name or tell us about your influence when they
register for classes at the Hobart Institute.

Particular individuals in the welding industry, recognizing the
level of excellence provided by Hobart Institute and having an
