Letter from the President

Dear Readers,
Since 1940, the
Hobart Institute of Welding Technology has operated as a 501(c)3
nonprofit educational institute. To this date, it remains
as such. No individual or company owns the Hobart Institute;
instead all fees from the school’s operation go directly back
into its programs. This is why we are able to make affordable
one of the highest quality welding educations in the world.
For decades, through
Hobart’s training curriculum sold to schools throughout the
world, we have literally changed the lives of millions of
students providing them with both a career and a future. In
most every case, through the inspiration of their respective
instructors and the help of the training aides we provide, these
individuals have gone into society and become some of the best
in their trade.
Furthermore, since
the opening of the Hobart Institute 72 years ago, we have
trained some 84,000+ welders at our Troy, OH facility who have
also become industrious individuals. Many have gone on to
become welding engineers, or foremen or departmental managers as
well as executives within industry. We’re aware of several who
own their own businesses and credit the Hobart Institute for
their beginnings.
Recognizing the
difference that possibly the Hobart Institute has made in your
life or others, then we ask that as this year comes to an end,
you consider making a charitable donation to the Hobart
Institute. While the school’s operational income statement is
extremely sound, we also realize that with your financial
support, we could reach hundreds more students and be even more
aggressive in our efforts to impact the welding society and the
Image of Welding. We hope you will decide to help us build a
future for welding.
To make your
tax-deductible donation of $10, $30, even $100 or more, please
direct them to George Tate, Financial Manager, Hobart Institute
of Welding Technology, 400 Trade Square East, Troy, OH 45373.
For questions, please call either Mr. Tate at 1-800-332-9448,
ext. 5610 or myself at ext. 5247. Your financial assistance
will help make welding education more affordable for future
generations.
Thank you for your
consideration and your contributions to the future of welding.
Sincerely,
Philip W. Pratt
President / Chief Executive Officer
