OXYACETYLENE WELDING DVD RELEASED

The DVD program for Hobart Institute’s Oxyacetylene Welding, Cutting, and Brazing program has been released.  This entry-level curriculum that teaches cutting techniques and hand-eye coordination associated with good puddle control and filler addition, has been converted from videotape to make it more user-friendly.  The topics are presented on four DVD’s that coordinate with the student workbook, instructor guide, tests, and answer keys.  Some of the topics on the DVD include an introduction to oxyacetylene welding; assembly of equipment and preparation for welding; explanation of various welding positions and types of welds; and health and safety of welders.  To order a copy, please call 1-800-332-9448, ext. 5433 or order online at http://www.welding.org

BLUEPRINT READING FOR WELDERS AND FITTERS DVD RELEASED 

The DVD program for Hobart Institute's Blueprint Reading for Welders and Fitters course has been released  and is recommended for AWS entry-level SENSE (QC10 and EG2.0) programs.  It includes topics on the introduction to blueprint reading for welders and fitters, mathematics, metric conversions, standard drawing lines and symbols, orthographic views, interpreting blueprint information, surface and centerline relationships, auxiliary views, scale drawings, dimensional tolerances and stock allowances, tools and applications.
