What’s New in Welding Education?
American Welding Society’s Education Engineering Committee
Presents Seminar At The Colorado School of Mines
Miami, FL-March 15, 2005-- The American
Welding Society’s Engineering Education committee invites
welding educators to attend the third AWS Education Seminar,
which will take place June 30 and July 1, 2005, at the
Colorado School of
Mines in Golden, Colorado.
“What’s New in Welding Education?” is this
year’s theme. Speakers will discuss present recent advances in
welding and joining processes, including laser and robotic
welding; developments in the AWS Education Department; federal
funding for careers and technical education programs; and
funding for welding research and grants.
The AWS Engineering Education Committee
will meet July 1 to discuss support for welding education,
student recruitment, and a campaign to improve the image of
welding. A tour of the
Center for Welding, Joining and Coatings Research at the
Colorado School of
Mines will follow.
