NEW FACES AND SHIFTING PLACES

BOB FISHER

The Hobart Institute is pleased to welcome two new employees to our staff. Bob Fisher joined the skill instructors in January. He has 23 years of experience in the welding industry, most recently as a product manager for the Stick Electrode Business Unit at Hobart Brothers Company. Bob also worked in the quality assurance department as quality coordinator, in the research and development department as a welding technician, and in the equipment division as a welder. A graduate of Bradford High School, Bob attended the Upper Valley Joint Vocational School and was a district SkillsUSA VICA winner in welding. He is qualified to teach all of the welding processes at Hobart Institute.

JENNIFER HALL

Jennifer Hall recently joined the office staff, filling a position vacated by Erin Lucas, and is serving our students as Registrar / Financial Aid Administrator. She has worked in both office and factory settings since her graduation from Graham High School in 1989. Jennifer interacts with students from their point of registration and scheduling of classes to assisting with their financial aid needs. She works with various banking and government agencies to assure our students are obtaining the greatest benefits that are available to them. You may reach Jennifer at (937) 332-5215 or 1-800-332-9448, ext. 5215.

ERIN LUCAS

Erin has been promoted to the position of Program Development and Sales. In her new position, she will assist the HIWT Instructors by upgrading their current classroom instruction to include the use of multimedia applications. Erin is also researching and developing a plan to reach an audience of learners that may not be able to attend our facility but would like to improve their welding skills using Hobart Institute of Welding Technology curriculum.

If you are a welding instructor that is looking to improve your classroom presentation or someone looking for distance welding training and have any ideas for Erin, please contact her by email at erin.lucas@welding.org.
