TO THE EDITOR
I was hoping
to get 2 of your posters for display here at General Motors
Proving Grounds.
I teach
welding at the Powertrain shops here in Milford. The
students could use the reminder after the
excitement of learning has worn off.
I appreciate
your magazine "The World of Welding" and look forward to
each edition.
I have 29 years
in at GM and am contemplating taking classes to become a
welding inspector.
I've
enjoyed welding since I was 14 yrs. old.
I weld a
lot of 304 exhaust pipe and many other special jobs here at
GM.
I also
started my own company at home called Gemini Welding.
Since
we've been working 7 days a week since summer, I haven't
been doing a lot of projects at home.
But my
shop is almost completed and I am looking forward to working
there after retirement.
Thank you
for your excellent publication and for teaching a much
needed skill to folks.
I've
learned a lot from just reading the magazine you publish.
I also
pass it around to try and motivate some young individuals to
perhaps further their studies into a profession.
So far I
haven't heard of anyone attending your school from here.
I will
just have to set the example and attend a class soon,
perhaps next year.
Thank you again.
~
Sincerely, Dave Warsow,

I really enjoy the
magazine. It gives me new ideas and good info on projects
that I’m working with. Thanx!

I have over
thirty-five years of diversified welding experience that
includes twenty years as a welding educator in secondary and
postsecondary levels, and field work experiences in
structural frame construction, piping installation, pressure
vessels welding, petrochemical plants, coal-fire power
plants, nuclear power plants, specialized industrial
consulting, training of in-service pipelines, and robotic
training. During these years, I have had the opportunity to
review many welding training facilities and the students
that have completed their training from many of them.
As a welding
educator, I feel that I only send my students to the very
best training facilities in the country. After reviewing
many training facilities from coast-to-coast, I feel that
Hobart’s training program is the very best. Being a welding
instructor in Indiana at this time, I am sure there is not a
better welding training program in this region at this time
than Hobart’s training facility.
My reasoning for
this is the welding facility and training staff. Hobart has
a training building that is second to none, and with the
latest welding equipment on the market, it provides a good
start. The staff at Hobart includes certified welding
inspectors and instructors that care about the students and
realize what will be needed to achieve skillful employment;
not just employment but skilled employment.
Last, but not
least, is that Hobart is not just a welding school, it is a
fraternity of men and women that have learned a skill for
life, not just a place that a person has come to practice
something. Long after completing courses at Hobart, a
student can call them and ask for assistance of any type.
This is a place that will continue to serve the student.
You are not just a number, you are part of a legend… you are
family.

What a wonderful improvement
providing “The World of Welding” as a digital document, as
Hobart improves in its services, so do we. That is why we
send our guys to you. One is there for the next 5 days and
I know he will come back to Connecticut a wiser QA/QC
Inspector.

NOTE: If you are interested in receiving the electronic
edition of The World of Welding (WOW), please send an

you!
I enjoy
your magazine greatly. As a former ASE certified master
auto technician, welding was a very small part of my job. I
currently work as a mechanical technician at…a fire truck
manufacturer in … Florida. Welding has become a much larger
part of my job. I took classes at Central Florida Community
College and, at age 57, passed my GMAW 3G test. My
instructor, Mike Bannester, deserves a lot of credit.
Thanks, Mike, for all your help!
