41 years in welding… the last 9 with Hobart Institute!  That is quite an accomplishment!  And now we are saying good-bye in the workplace to a long-time friend, instructor, and employee, Karl Zerkle.

Karl spent many years working for Hobart Brothers Company in the test laboratory before joining the Hobart Institute staff where he worked as an instructor and senior radiography technician in the Certification Department.  He holds certifications as an American Welding Society Certified Welding Inspector (AWS-CWI) and in American Society of Nondestructive Testing (ASNT) Radiography, Magnetic Particle, and Liquid Penetrant Testing.  Karl served as an AWS committee member prior to his retirement in December 2006.
