Mark your
calendar to attend the open house celebrating the 75th
Anniversary of Hobart Institute of Welding Technology on
Saturday, May 14, 2005. This occasion marking the diamond
anniversary of HIWT will be held on the grounds of the Institute
at 400 Trade Square East in Troy, Ohio, U.S.A. from 2:00 p.m.
until 4:00 p.m.
Board members,
administration and staff of the Hobart Institute will be on hand
to welcome State and local dignitaries and the public for the
program and rededication of the newly-restored
Unity of Man fountain followed by refreshments and tours
of the Institute. Music will be provided by Scott Oglesbee of
SK Music.
You are also
invited to visit with Peter C. Hobart who will be present to
sign copies of his new book
The
Industrial Hobarts: one family’s story through the American
Century. Co-author Michael W. Williams will join Peter
Hobart to present a detailed narrative on May 13, 2005, at 7:00
p.m. at the Troy-Hayner
Cultural Center, 301 West Main Street, Troy, Ohio.
And you are
invited to attend the
Sound Sculpture concert featuring Michael Bashaw,
artist and musician on May 14, 2005 at 6:00 p.m. at the corner
of North Market Street and Staunton Road, Troy, Ohio.
HIWT alumni and
friends, area industrial leaders, all interested parties, and
members of the media are encouraged to be present for the
festivities.
