READY FOR FREEDOM!
You're eighteen!
You're "tough"!
You're ready for FREEDOM!
Freedom to come and go as you like.
Freedom you may not have had in high school while living
at home.
But are you "responsible"?
Are you ready for the Hobart Institute?
Are you ready to give up that late night party in order
to make it to class on time EVERY DAY?
Are you really an "adult" and ready to accept
the responsibilities that go with being in the working world?
One thing employers have stressed to us at the Hobart
Institute is, attendance
is VITAL! It is
the number one thing they look at when hiring.
You can be the best welder in the world, but if you don't
show up for work, you are worthless to the company that must get
the product out the door and into the market.
Attending
the Hobart Institute of Welding Technology is work.
Students are required to be on time for each class and
laboratory session; to honor break times; and to remain at the
Hobart Institute through the completion of the scheduled daily
program.
So, what happens if you are really ill?
Or if you have a family emergency and must return home?
You must notify the Institute when you can't report at your
scheduled time, regardless of the reason.
Excused absences include personal illness, illness or
death in the family, and legal matters.
Absences requiring you to reschedule a course are as
follows:
-
In a one-week class, if the absence exceeds one day, the
student must reschedule the class.
-
In a two-week class, if the absence exceeds one and
one-half days, the student must reschedule the class.
-
If you miss more than two days in a four week class, you
will be required to reschedule that class.
Your
education is important to us and we consider it "work"
in the manner similar to what your employers will expect in just
five or nine months. Attendance
is important!
