INSTITUTE GRAD NAMED PRESIDENT OF THE AMERICAN WELDING SOCIETY

L. Arn, President of WELDtech International/Teletherm
Technologies has been elected as president of the American
Welding Society (AWS) for the 2001-2002 term. President Arn
was confirmed during the first MAX
INTERNATIONAL Exposition, the co-located show of
Independence, Ohio's, Precision
Metalforming Association, METALFORM
and AWS' International Welding and Fabricating Exposition and
Annual Meeting.
Arn, a Lisbon resident, is president of WELDtech International/Teletherm
Technologies, a company that specializes in various welding
processes systems technology. Prior to starting his own company,
Arn held a number of high-level positions with Glunt
Industries, Machine
Dynamics and Engineering, and Jefco Industries.
A graduate of the Hobart Institute of Welding and a former
student at Youngstown State
University, Arn recognizes the importance of education and
has made it a cornerstone of his presidency. "I began as a
welder, enjoyed the opportunities the industry provides for a
successful career, including my own business, and now the
presidency of AWS," said Arn.
Arn has been an active member of AWS for many years, most
recently being a member of the Board of Directors. Arn is
married with three children, including a son who is a Welding
Engineering student at The
Ohio State University.
