TO THE EDITOR
Just a brief note of thanks for all the support this
year. We don't always get an opportunity to really see what
our work is all about until you finish getting a group ready
for the world of work. Anyone in our profession knows the
effort required to prepare to step out into the construction
trades.
Students are trained to national standards with
curriculum that is industry-driven and developed by
the Hobart Institute of
Welding Technology and
NCCER/AWS S.E.N.S.E. and our instructional methods
developed from 40 years as a leader in welding education.
External independent inspection and qualification of weld
performance test documents are in the hands of each
student. This past spring semester completes eleven
sections of courses for students from our community and out
of state.

(Arizona Western College Institute of Welding Technology)
welding students who completed welder certification to the
American Welding Society Structural Steel Welding Code [AWS
D1.1].
The picture tells it all! These students trained with
state-of- the-art equipment provided by program partners and
community resources. Students certified exclusively with
Hobart electrodes.

I am an alumni of Hobart
Institute. I have had many jobs as a welder.
Currently, I am a union welding. I would like to read more
about union work through, for, or about Hobart’s grads.

I enjoy
The World of Welding very much. It’s more awesome
every time I read it. They are wrapping up scrubber
projects at the power plants here. Plus there are units
under construction at another power plant. The utility here
is hiring pipe welders and maintenance welders. Right now
there is a lot of work for welders. Keep up the good job
and keep
The World of Welding coming. Thanks!
