WANTED: WELDING
INSTRUCTOR
Hobart Institute is
seeking a candidate that has completed HIWT courses or the
equivalent and has three to five years experience as a welder
and/or instructor to fill the position of skill welding
instructor.
This team-player must
have excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical
skills and be able to follow sound teaching principles. A
thorough knowledge of the arc welding processes (OAW, SMAW, GMAW,
FCAW, GTAW) is essential, as the instructor will be tested in
welding processes and must be capable of teaching both plate and
pipe welding and must be able to maintain and operate the
equipment. Fundamental management and leadership skills are
necessary to maintain a structured and disciplined classroom and
lab.
This candidate should
have a working knowledge of welding codes and destructive and
nondestructive test methods and be able to write reports,
compile data to maintain orderly records, and develop course
outlines. Once hired, they will participate in instructional
cross-training and will be expected to travel as needed to
conduct field training.
