ACCSCT LAUNCHES REDESIGNED WEB SITE

March 1, 2006, Arlington, VA -- The Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges of Technology  (ACCSCT) that accredits the Hobart Institute of Welding Technology launched its redesigned web site at www.accsct.org.  The redesigned web site is one component of ACCSCT’s efforts to further communicate the Commission’s role in serving as a reliable authority on educational quality within the higher education community.   Elise Scanlon, Executive Director, announced the web site redesign initiative to the membership at the 2005 ACCSCT Annual Business Meeting as part of the Commission’s goal to increase its visibility, enhance the accessibility of information about ACCSCT and its accredited institutions, and to provide greater service to the ACCSCT membership.

ACCSCT partnered with American Technology Services, a full-service information technology-consulting firm, for the redesign project.   This new design emphasizes the Commission’s mission, vision, and core values, and includes numerous upgrades that will help maximize the intuitive functionality of the web site and enhance the user’s online experience.

For more than 35 years, ACCSCT has been committed to establishing and advancing quality education at private, postsecondary career schools and colleges.  ACCSCT is dedicated to ensuring quality education for more than 200,000 students who annually pursue career education at more than 800 ACCSCT accredited institutions.  ACCSCT has been recognized by the United States Department of Education as a reliable authority for the establishment of educational standards since 1967.  ACCSCT’s scope of recognition includes the accreditation of private, postsecondary, non-degree-granting institutions and degree-granting institutions in the United States, including those granting associate, baccalaureate and master’s degrees, that are predominantly organized to educate students for occupational, trade and technical careers, and including institutions that offer programs via distance education.  ACCSCT’s mission is to serve as a reliable authority on educational quality and to promote enhanced opportunities for students by establishing, sustaining, and enforcing valid standards and practices that contribute to the development of a highly trained and competitive workforce through quality career oriented education.
