CAREER OPPORTUNITY
DEMAND SAFETY – DELIVER QUALITY
A company that is seeking quality
welding talent turned to the Hobart Institute recently to
speak with students who are bound for a rewarding welding
career.
United Group Services, Inc., located in Cincinnati,
Ohio, is a multi-faceted company, under private ownership, that
is positioned for growth.
Human
Resource Manager Bobby Reeves and Quality Coordinator John
Gaffin spent a few hours speaking with students and explaining
the company’s welding services and expectations of future
employees.
“We are a growing company, and we are
always looking for qualified welding applicants,” says Bobby
Reeves.
A good work ethic was at the top of the
list of his expectations.
“Show up every day… on time… wanting to
work… and willing to learn. These are the most important
attributes,” Bobby explained.
If you meet these requirements, you will be
rewarded with long-term employment, competitive salary,
benefits, and profit sharing. Interested applicants are
encouraged to contact Mr. Reeves for more information on the
application processing.
“United offers paid training based on the
skills needed to bring welders to the level required for the
work,” says John. “The welding we perform is of x-ray quality
on stainless steel, carbon steel,
MonelÒ,
HastelloyÒ, and nickels
as well as high-purity welding.”
And the training never ends. Employees,
from the newest apprentice to the seasoned journeymen, may
participate in a training plan designed to promote growth and
personal development.
Three full-time
AWS certified welding
inspectors are on staff to assure that all welding components
are of the highest quality for the welding performed in chemical
processing and pharmaceutical plants, pulp and paper plants,
food and beverage production, power generation, steel foundries,
automotive, petrochemical and manufacturing industries.
Safety is at the top of the list when
training begins. United is an
OSHA VPPC company, one of
only nine companies in the nation, to receive the Star
designation under this pilot program. Stringent guidelines are
required to meet the standards set forth under this Voluntary
Protection Program.
“There is no room for error when you are
working with high pressure and hot steam pipe repairs,” says
Bobby. “We fully understand the serious implications of safety
lapses for both the client and the contractor.”
Hobart Institute serves the companies such
as United Group Services well by assisting them in providing
employment information to students who are completing the
Combination Structural and Pipe Welding Program. In
addition to the various processes for welding of pipe, this
program stresses safety as well as attendance to prepare
students with the essential attributes required to enter the
workforce.
No Borders, No Boundaries, is the
message that United Group Services conveys to their customers.
While the majority of their work is based in Cincinnati,
Louisville, and Columbus, United Group Services will go anywhere
necessary to meet their client requirements. In addition to
welding services, United offers design, engineering, estimating,
fabrication, erection, and installation (new, modified, or
renovated) along with rigging and industrial piping services.
Demand Safety, Deliver Quality
well-serves the company where safety, quality, training,
flexibility, reliability, and accountability provide the
foundation for growth.
