PROJECT
W.E.L.D. RECEIVES
CITY AND STATE RECOGNITION
The efforts of Richard E. Hart, welding instructor at Max S.
Hayes Vocational High School, continue to receive recognition
for Project W.E.L.D. (Worthy Employment, Leadership
Development).
Most recently, Jane L. Campbell, Mayor of the City of
Cleveland, issued a proclamation stating that Max S. Hayes
Vocational High School is changing the Image
of Welding with Project W.E.L.D., an occupational
specific job preparation program that will be a benefit to
tomorrow’s welding industry. This initiative has
breathed new life into the welding program, and seeks to
stimulate the industry and interest in the welding program.
Project W.E.L.D. includes interaction between parent/guardian,
students, and the school to help build pride in each student and
their ability to succeed, creating better futures for our youth.
In similar manner, Governor
Bob Taft of the State of Ohio officially recognizes Project
W.E.L.D. for vision in changing the image of welding in the
Cleveland community. The Governor commends the actions of
the program in raising awareness to the welding industry.
These two acknowledgements follow the recognition in the Congressional
Record last winter by the U.S.
House of Representatives.
Mr. Hart teaches by example and works closely with local
welding companies to expose his students to a greater
understanding of the welding profession and the latest in
welding technology.
