FLOWERS
BLOOM YEAR AROUND IN
PENNSYLVANIA
A
student at the Wilkes-Barre Area
Vocational Technical School in Pennsylvania fabricated this
original design for his welding project this past school year in
Leonard Valaitis’ junior welding class.
Nathan Schultz created the image in his mind and then
constructed it by gas tungsten arc welding of 11-gauge plate and
TIG welding wire. A
pattern was then developed.
The tallest flower is 15-inches high and the flower box
began with an 8 ˝-inch square, 11-gauge plate.
The artwork was enhanced and protected with a coat of
paint.
