HOBART GRAD LANDS SUCCESSFUL POSITION
Anthony
Hill of Weirton, West Virginia, completed the nine-month
Combination Structural and Pipe Welding Program at the
Hobart Institute in February of 1998. This training prepared
him for employment at
Vast-Miles, LLC in Bethel Park, Pennsylvania.
“Hobart
helped me a great deal,” says Anthony. “I probably could not
have handled the job I am now doing without that training.”
The job he
is now doing is flux cored arc welding in a plant that builds
lifting equipment for steel mills. Vast-Miles is the industry
leader in mill lifting devices.
“When I
was general foreman of the welding/fitting shop, I saw Anthony
as a young guy with a quality personality, initiative and
attitude,” says Jim Pauchnik, Quality Assurance Manager at
Vast-Miles. “He has become our “ace” welder/fitter and is
certified in all our required disciplines. As well as welding
and fitting, Anthony operates the new oxyfuel and plasma burning
table.”
“I have
also attended Hobart and know the quality of your training,” Jim
continues. “Truly, Hobart puts out good quality people.”
Anthony is
currently working 10-hour days and with his education and
experience is able to earn a very competitive wage. In his
spare time, he assists a friend who operates a welding shop,
taking every opportunity to keep practicing his welding skills.
Anthony also enjoys riding and working on his Harley Davidson
cycle. “Just keeping busy doing the guy-things!” says
Anthony.
